February 27-March 1

Dear Parents,

I wanted to begin this week with a "thank you". I appreciate your patience with me in my recent absences. Unfortunately, the saying "when it rains it pours" has seemingly become the motto for my family. I will not go into all the details here ... but please know that I enjoy teaching and being with my students and my thoughts are with them when I am away. I am hopeful that things will improve soon.

This week we will be discussing prefixes, suffixes and root words as well as additional vocabulary that students need to be familiar with. Since both classes will benefit from reading,  So You Want to be President? throughout the week we will spend some time reading and discussing this expository nonfiction story. The class will have a comprehension test on our reading this Friday.
Our class will also continue with their independent novel studies which should be completed March 8th.
