Happy almost spring break week! I know your student is looking forward to a fabulous and well deserved break. However, please remind your child that this week is still "work as usual" as we will still be working diligently in class.
Of course it will not be all work considering we are having a spring celebration Thursday afternoon. I hope you will be able to pop in. It is always exciting for the students when their parents re able to visit.

Mrs. Smith's class
We will be marching on with our novel studies. Remember you need to be ready to turn it in on Thursday and take the test. Complete your study guide and you should score well on your novel test. Our class will also be reading The Great Kapok Tree and we will have a test on the story Thursday.
Parents,
The students and I planned Thursday's party together and your child volunteered for items they thought you would be able to send. If you can not send the item your child volunteered for, it is perfectly fine....just let me know so I can make arrangements to pick it up if necessary. I appreciate all the support you provide!
Homework
Monday-Wednesday
Work on you novel study and complete the study guide if you have not already done so.
This is a short note that went home today with the students:
Dear Parents,
I appreciate all the response I have gotten concerning our spring celebration. The kids are all so excited! They have been working to plan skits, jokes, and prepare art work to entertain our guests.
I am writing this in response to another area of our classroom that requires your help/cooperation. Many of the students are bringing in “packets of sweeteners/flavors” for their water bottles. This may not seem like much of an issue; however, it contributes to messiness in our classroom. Students often spill their drinks (on themselves, their desks, etc...) and with the additives the water becomes not only sticky but it also leads to staining that is nearly impossible to get off of the desks and floor. It would be helpful if the students only drink “regular water” during class time and brought either water or a pouch juice drink for lunch/snack.
Your understanding and cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mrs. Smith
